hopeless startup simulator (also on my new site for incremental games, galaxy!)

---

Everybody has some great ideas for the future, but not everybody wants to do the work to get there.

"this crazy idea" puts you in the role of a programmer as their friends and family barrage them with startup ideas, that are all so mind-numbingly stupid that they're doomed to fail.

But... you're a nice person, right? You wouldn't say "no" to a good friend.

Or would you?

Can you break the cycle?

Idea is very interesting and game was fun, however mathematics of this game is not good.

1) Features are imbalanced

2) Startups are not hopeless, as long as you make code small and rely on constant income from users. (You even can be profitable longer than you can be annoyed), therefore stratup can be good.

3) Not sure why increasing code size makes proportional growth in expences but does not make application better

4) Impressed by how much money you can do, without being able to withdraw them

Total rating 4/5 (because game was fun)

I randomly got blocked by cousin halfway through and can't ever finish the game

I don’t know why it happened, but I can offer a solution:

If you’re on Firefox:

  1. Open Javascript Console (press f12)
  2. Click the button that looks like three rectangles in the top right and select the only other option
  3. In the console, enter player.layers.intro.messages = 0

If you’re on Chrome (or 90% of other browsers):

  1. Open Javascript Console (press f12)
  2. Click the word “top” in the top left and set it to “index.html”
  3. In the console, enter player.layers.intro.messages = 0

Cool game, finished in 20 mins but you can cheese it by only using Features.
